Only about 44.91%[1] of people in France are cremated, so burial remains the local tradition. For dogs, that often means a spot in the garden or on family land. Cremation is still widely available, though, and many families choose it because it lets them keep their dog close even if they move.
The France figure comes from ICI (France Bleu), citing the Fédération française de crémation (2023). It describes people, not pets, so read it as a sign of local attitudes rather than a pet statistic.

Will I have to travel to Nice to arrange things?
