Most people here already know what a private cremation is, local crematories are well established and families rarely feel they have to explain why they want their dog's ashes home.

Rules for pets after death are usually simple, but they're set at more than one level: Saxony, then your city, county or council, and sometimes a homeowners' association or landlord. The strictest one applies. If you're thinking about a home burial, check all of them; if you're choosing cremation, the rules mostly affect where you scatter the ashes afterwards.
In Germany, home burial is allowed on your own land with at least 50 cm of soil cover, outside water-protection areas. Pet crematoria (Tierkrematorium) offer individual (Einzeleinäscherung) and collective cremation; ask which one you're booking.
