- If your dog dies while you're away from home, find the nearest vet or emergency clinic first. They can confirm the death and hold your dog while you decide.

Should I choose cremation or burial for my dog?
Surveys in the US and UK point the same way: roughly two-thirds of bereaved owners choose cremation and about 30% choose burial[4]. Burial gives you a place to visit but depends on land and local rules; cremation is simpler if you rent, might move or want to keep your dog close. You can also combine them by burying the ashes.
What's the difference between private and communal cremation?
