In France, your vet will usually offer incinération collective or individuelle. Individual cremation returns your dog's ashes; collective doesn't. Prices rise with weight, so give your dog's approximate weight when you ask.
The first 48 hours, step by step
- If your dog dies at night, there's no reason to phone anyone before morning unless it would help you. Carry your dog somewhere cool and lay a sheet over them.
- Put a towel or puppy pad underneath. It's normal for a dog's bladder or bowels to release after death.
