Dog Cremation in Dubai: what to know
If you're reading this because your dog is old or unwell, you're already doing something kind: planning ahead. In Dubai, one phone call to your vet or a crematory now can settle the big questions, so that when the time comes you can focus on your dog instead of logistics. The guides below cover every community we serve in Dubai.
The biggest cost differences in Dubai come from three things: your dog's weight, whether you want the ashes back and how your dog gets to the crematory. A home collection after hours can cost almost as much as the cremation itself in some areas. Knowing that in advance lets you decide where to save and where to spend.

Cremation in Dubai: why it matters for your dog
We don't have a reliable cremation figure for Dubai, but in every country we cover the direction for pets is the same: more families want their dog's ashes back. In Dubai, start by asking your vet which crematory they work with, whether individual cremation is available and how the ashes will be returned to you.
What you'll likely pay, and what adds to it
Across the countries we've studied, private cremation for a medium-size dog (about 20 to 25 kg) has a median published price of about $294 in US dollars[1], and private typically costs about twice as much as communal[2]. Use that as a rough benchmark in Dubai, then ask local providers for a written quote in local currency.
In Dubai, the first question to ask is whether individual cremation, with your dog's ashes returned, is available locally. In some places the only public route is collective disposal with no ashes returned. If you want the ashes, ask your vet which private provider they use, what it costs for your dog's weight and how long the return takes, and get the answer in writing.
| Place | Shared (communal) | Separate (private) |
|---|---|---|
| UAE (pet up to 30 kg) | AED 700 to 900 | AED 2,300 to 2,700 |
| United States (51–70 lb dog) | $50 to $100 | $200 to $300 |

Checking the rules in Dubai before you decide
Public land adds its own layer. Parks, beaches, lakes and forests in Dubai are run by different agencies, and each may take its own view on scattering ashes. Many allow it quietly and discreetly, some want a request made in advance, and a few don't allow it at all. If you have a special place in mind, a quick call or a look at the managing agency's website before the day saves an awkward surprise.
In the UAE, pet burial isn't generally permitted, so cremation is the usual route. Separate (individual) cremation costs noticeably more than shared cremation; ask for the price in writing and how the ashes will be returned.
If it's happening now: a short plan
- If your dog dies at night, you don't need to call anyone until morning unless you want to. Move your dog to a cool room and cover them with a sheet.
- Put a towel or puppy pad underneath. It's normal for a dog's bladder or bowels to release after death.
- Gently curl your dog into a natural sleeping position during the first hours, while the body is still soft. Both the lifting later and the goodbye itself are easier that way.
- In the morning, call your vet or one of the crematories covering Dubai. Give them a rough weight for your dog and say where your dog is now.
- Ask for the price in writing, and make sure it covers the pickup, whichever cremation type you've chosen and the container the ashes arrive in.
- Take a paw print, a lock of fur or their collar before collection if you'd like a keepsake.
- Write down the expected return date for the ashes, along with the name of whoever will get in touch once they're back.
Remembering your dog, in Dubai and beyond
If there are children at home in Dubai, involve them in remembering. In a RSPCA survey, 93.4%[4] of parents said they wanted better guidance on helping children through pet loss, so you're far from alone if you feel unsure. Simple things work: a scrapbook of photos, a drawing for the urn shelf, or the story of the day your dog joined the family, retold on their birthday.

Questions people ask
How much does dog cremation cost in Dubai?
Prices across Dubai depend mostly on your dog's size and whether you choose private or communal cremation, plus any home pickup or urn upgrade. Big-city providers can charge more for same-day collection, while rural areas may add mileage. Ask for an itemized written total before you agree.
Should I get a second quote for dog cremation in Dubai?
If time allows, yes. Prices for the same private cremation can differ noticeably between providers in Dubai, especially once collection and the urn are added. Ask each for a written, itemized total for your dog's weight. If it all feels like too much right now and you'd rather not shop around, going with your vet's usual provider is a perfectly reasonable choice.
Where can I scatter my dog's ashes in Dubai?
Private land with the owner's permission is the simplest. Parks, beaches and public land usually have their own rules, and some ask you to request permission first. Choose a quiet spot, scatter downwind and away from paths, and consider keeping a little back in a keepsake urn.
How long does it take to get my dog's ashes back in Dubai?
Many families receive their dog's ashes within one to two weeks. In large cities it can be faster; in rural areas where dogs travel to a regional crematory it may take a little longer. Ask for an expected return date when you book.
Can a vet come to my home for euthanasia anywhere in Dubai?
In and around larger cities, mobile vets who offer home euthanasia are common, and many also arrange cremation afterwards. In rural parts of Dubai, coverage is patchier and travel fees are more likely. Your regular vet may be willing to visit even if they don't advertise it, so ask. Book as early as you can, as diaries fill up.
Is dog cremation common in Dubai?
For people, about a majority of deaths in Dubai end in cremation, and pet aftercare tends to follow local habits. Among families who want to keep their dog close, cremation is now the most common choice, especially in towns and suburbs.
