Dog aftercare in Dubai: the local picture
Dubai pets live in apartment towers in areas like the Marina and Downtown, and in villa communities with small gardens further out. Burying a pet in a community garden, the desert or on public land isn't a straightforward option, so most owners arrange cremation through a vet or a pet aftercare provider. Share your community and building details when you ask, and mention if you'll need collection.
Dubai's summer heat is extreme, often well above 40°C from June to September, so a pet's body must be cooled almost immediately. Wrap your pet in a towel, place ice packs around the body and keep them in an air-conditioned room until collection. Even in the milder winter months, arranging aftercare the same day or the next is the safe approach.
Plenty of Dubai households have more than one dog, and the dog left behind often notices. Many owners choose to let the other dog sniff and sit with the body for a few minutes before collection; it does no harm and some families feel it helps. Keep walks and mealtimes steady in the weeks after. If you share your home with two older dogs, it's also worth asking a provider now what they'd charge, so the next goodbye is less of a scramble.
About 3,331,000 people live in Dubai, which makes it the largest of the 2 United Arab Emirates communities we cover.
Dubai sits within easy reach of Emirates Hills (13 miles), Sharjah (13 miles) and Abu Dhabi (76 miles). A provider based in any of them will usually collect from Dubai; ask what the mileage adds to the bill.

Burial, cremation and tradition in United Arab Emirates
Customs around death differ from place to place, and in Dubai pet cremation may be newer or less visible than elsewhere. That's fine. The core questions are universal: is my dog cremated alone, how are they identified throughout, what does it cost in total and when will I get the ashes back? Ask them plainly and expect plain answers.
What the seasons mean for aftercare in Dubai
Local weather affects two things: how quickly your dog should be collected, and whether a burial or scattering outdoors is practical. Your provider in Dubai will know the seasons well, so ask them what they'd recommend at this time of year.

Pricing dog cremation in Dubai, line by line
Because services and rules differ from country to country, the first call in Dubai is usually to your vet, who will know which pet crematory they trust. The table below shows published prices from other places as a rough guide.

What United Arab Emirates allows: burial, scattering and more
You don't need a permit to have your dog cremated, but what you do afterwards, burying them at home or scattering their ashes in a park, can be governed by local rules. Here's what applies in United Arab Emirates.
In the UAE, pet burial isn't generally permitted, so cremation is the usual route. Separate (individual) cremation costs noticeably more than shared cremation; ask for the price in writing and how the ashes will be returned.
What to do first, and what can wait
- Say goodbye in your own way. There's no rush. Many families sit with their dog for an hour or two.
- Make a keepsake if you'd like one. A paw print must be taken before cremation.
- Contact a provider through your vet or directly. We can also send you local options.
- Arrange collection at a time that suits you, and tell the provider about stairs, lifts or a large dog.
- Choose private or communal, then get it stated in writing so there's no doubt later.
- Plan where the ashes will go. You don't have to decide now; the urn can sit on a shelf for as long as you need.
Ways to remember your dog locally
Many Dubai residents are expats whose pets have traveled with them from other countries, and a large share of families will eventually move on again. That makes cremation with ashes returned the most common choice, because ashes can travel with you when you relocate. If you plan to take them abroad, ask the provider for a cremation certificate and a sealed, travel-friendly container.

Questions people ask
Which nearby towns can I compare with Dubai?
The closest communities we cover are Emirates Hills (about 13 miles), Sharjah (about 13 miles) and Abu Dhabi (about 76 miles). Providers based in those places often serve Dubai too. Ask each one for a written total that includes collection, so the distance is priced in.
Should I choose cremation or burial for my dog?
Surveys in the US and UK point the same way: roughly two-thirds of bereaved owners choose cremation and about 30% choose burial[4]. Burial gives you a place to visit but depends on land and local rules; cremation is simpler if you rent, might move or want to keep your dog close. You can also combine them by burying the ashes.
How long until I get my dog's ashes back in Dubai?
Many families get their dog's ashes back within one to two weeks. In a large city it can be quicker; in a smaller town where the cremation happens in a regional centre like Dubai, it may take a little longer. Ask for an expected return date when you book.
Is it legal to bury my dog at home in United Arab Emirates?
In many places it is, with conditions such as depth, distance from water and whether you own the property. Rules vary within United Arab Emirates too, so check with your city or county before digging. If you rent or might move, cremation lets you keep your dog with you.
Do I have to use the crematory my vet recommends?
No. Your vet's arrangement is convenient, but you can choose any provider that serves Dubai and ask them to collect from the clinic. It's worth a quick comparison if you want a witnessed cremation, a particular urn or a clearer price.
What's the difference between private and communal cremation?
In a private cremation your dog is cremated alone and the ashes returned are only theirs. In a communal cremation several animals are cremated together and ashes aren't returned; they're usually scattered in a memorial garden. Private typically costs about twice as much.
